Linda W. demonstrated the final block, the Feathered Star pattern, in her Quilt 101 class. She distributed the various layouts in a previous Guild Meeting. Now we all are busy finishing up our blocks. Linda will hold a layout class in May to help us put our blocks together. This class was free to Guild members - what a great benefit. Here is the Feathered Star block that Linda demonstrated. ________________________________ Please visit our Community Service Page if you would like to learn more about what Community Service projects we are active in. One project is making and sending quilts to the families of fallen military personnel. Here is a close-up of one of those quilts. The Coastal Bend Quilt & Needlework Guild was chartered in April 1986 with six to eight members meeting first at a store at the Cross Roads, then to Galvan House in Heritage Park, then on to Mount Olive Church and presently at the Ethel Eyerly Community Center. The purpose of the Guild is to promote instruction and help for personal and community projects, and to encourage friendship and sharing of ideas for people with this common interest. The Guild meets the second Thursday of each month at the Ethel Eyerly Community Center (Flour Bluff), 654 Graham Road, Corpus Christi, Tx. Come join us if you live in or around the Corpus Christi area and enjoy quilting, sewing, needlework or doll making. Visitors are welcome! Please call (361) 855 - 0815 if you are interested in additional information on the guild, or if you would like to contribute fabric, or make a donation.
